Off-page SEO (a.k.a off-site SEO) refers to techniques or strategies that we implement to improve the position of keywords for our website in the search engine results page (SERPs). In general, it means a set of activities that we do for our website to build links (usually called backlinks). These backlinks point to our website, pass link juice and helps in improving the position of our target keywords.
Why is Off-Page SEO Important?
When it comes to links to a website, Google has its own algorithms that rank different pages based on multiple factors. Off-page SEO is one of them. It is quite difficult to rank your website with just content; here link building comes to the rescue. Those links tell Google about our website and affect our ranking factors.
So, getting a backlink from a quality site should only be the aim.

Domain Authority – I think it is pretty much clear from its name – “Authority of Domain“. This metric is created by Moz to give scores to websites based on their performance. Thus, it is very important to consider the website’s DA while using it to create a backlink for your own website. Always try to get a backlink from the high DA website.
Relevance – The most important factor is to ensure that the website linking back to you is related to your niche. Otherwise, why would you love to get a backlink from a fashion blog if you write blogs on animals?!
Site traffic – When doing any of the off-page SEO activities, it is better to know how much traffic you can get from some specific site.
